Isaiah Fletcher has been hired as the new Director of Activities. 5 years ago, Isaiah started at SNRC as a floor tech in housekeeping. Showing determination to support the residents at Salyersville Nursing and Rehab he signed up for a Certified Nurse Aide class and was selected to train right here onsite. Isaiah successfully completed the program and worked tirelessly as a CNA for the next 3 years.
When the Activity Director position opened it was an easy decision to apply. Having spent so much time working the floor, Isaiah knew that residents had requests and ideas for more engaging activities here at the center and within the community. “As a CNA, I watched the residents request more exciting events, so I put my hat into the mix to help make these things a reality. Residents of SNRC, especially the long-term care individuals, deserve to have a community around them making them feel like this is their home,” he says. Isaiah is excited to take on this new challenge. He has already implemented S’MORE Sunday and is planning a Haunted House for residents and community alike.
“My goals are to engage residents to participate in more group activities, to schedule a larger variety of activities, and to take trips into the community as we used to before Covid,” says Fletcher. “I hope to bring back activities such as the Community Carnival and Cookouts!”
Please congratulate and welcome Isaiah into this new role, helping him to support the family atmosphere here at SNRC.
