This year SNRC joined in a great cause by partnering with the parent of a fallen employee. A few years ago, Salyersville Nursing and Rehabilitation lost one of its own in Kiesha Joseph. Kiesha was a caregiver here for several years and was loved among all that she befriended here at the facility. She fulfilled her duties with more compassion, empathy, and love than most of the world shares.
Tragically, due to an underlying health issue Kiesha passed away, but her mother, Jamie Lenne Joseph, decided that Keisha’s light would not be extinguished. Her mother, who is a healthcare professional herself, and exhibits all the same loving qualities as Kiesha, began the organization known as “Kiesha’s Corner.” This organization, through community donations and an outpouring of Facebook love, raised over $5,000.00 for our residents here at SNRC to enjoy Christmas and beyond. These funds were used to buy resident gifts, tools for dementia residents, as well as anything that a resident may desire.
As the C.E.O of Salyersville Nursing and Rehabilitation, I would personally like to thank Jamie for allowing us to partner with her. This amazing partnership allows SNRC the chance to honor her daughter’s memory and lets our residents know that the love Kiesha had for them will live on forever. We are truly blessed to work with such a wonderful family and were so very grateful to have known Kiesha and what she continues to do for our residents.
Warmest Regards, Josh Calhoun
